Further Rain in Most Districts Per Pi-ess Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. A deep cyclonic depression extends from the Tasman Sea on to New Zealand, with the centre west of the South Island. Winds: Variable at first over the southern portion of the South Island, otherwise moderate to strong northwesterly prevailing, reaching gale foice at times about Cook Strait. A general change to southerly is likely within 24 hours. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough on the west coast and about Cook Strait, elsewhere moderate but rising generally. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong westerly winds, backing to southerlies. Seas rough to heavy. Weather: Still unsettled, with further rain in most districts. Some heavy falls arc likely in central and southern areas. Temperatures mild, becoming colder tomorrow."
