The City Council last evening decided on the undermentioned regulations in respect of traffic in the Square on Saturday night, December 22, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve: — (1) That one-way traffic only be al- - between the white line to be drawn down the centre of the roadway in the Square and garden enclosures. (2) That no parking bo allowed in front of the shops in the Square. (3) That parking for 30 minutes only be allowed on the stands already appointed on the garden side of the Square, and on the stand now used bv general carriers, and in front of the Soldiers’ Memorial. (4) That extra permanent parking be allowed on both sides of King and Taonui streets. The matter of making suitable arrangements in regard to the control of traffic during the forthcoming visit of the Duke of Gloucester was left in the hands of- Councillor Cameron and the traffic manager, with power to act. ,
