Fat Sheep and .Cattle Values Down PRICES AT ADDINGTON Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. There was an overflowing entry of fat sheep at the Addington market today and prices eased. Fat cattle were also more numerous and values were also down to a slight extent. Store Sheep.—There was a small entry of adult wethers and shorn wether hoggets, which met with a good sale. Wethers made to 17s Id and hoggets to 17s Gd. A pen of old ewes with an even number of lambs sold at 13s 9d. Fat Sheep. —There was an overflow entry, approximating 8000 head. Ail classes ivere down in value, unfinished wothers by 2s Gd, good and . medium■weight. wethers by Is to Is Gd, and ewes by 2s. More than 25 per cent, of the entry was passed. Values were: Extra prime heavy wethers to 24s Id, prime heavy, 21s to 235; mediumweight prime, 18s Gd to 20s Gd; ordinary, 17s 3d to 18s 3d; light to 17s; extra prime heavy ewes to 22s 4d; prime heavy, 17s to 19s Gd; medium-weight prime, 15s to 16s Od; ordinary, 13s to 14s 9d; light and aged to 12s 6d. Fat Cattle. —The entry of 475 head was heavier than the trade wanted. Good steers were from par to 10s a head down and secondary and inferior to 15s. Best beef made from 27s to 295; heavy from 22s Gd to 24s Gd; good and medium-weight, 25s to 2Gs Gd; and ordinary from 19s to 22s Id. Values were: Extra prime heavy steers, £l2 to £l3 17s Gd; prime heavy, £lO 15s to £ll 15s; medium-weight prime, £9 to £lO 15s; ordinary, £6 5s to £8 10s; light to £6p extra prime heifers to £9 17s Gd; prime, £6 to £8 ss; ordinary, £4 15s to £5 15s; light, £3 5s to £4 10s; extra prime cows to £9; prime, £5 10s to £7; ordinary, £4 to £5 ss; light and aged, £3 to £3 15s. Fat Pigs. —A heavy entry of mixed quality met with an erratic demand. Values were: Choppers, £2 to £3 13s Gd; baconers, 43s 6d to £3 7s 6d; average price per lb, 5d to 51d; porkers, 32s to 41s 6d; average price per lb, 5d to cd. W -
