The House of Commons passed the third reading of the Betting and Lotteries Bill by 206 votes to 38. Replying to the Opposition to the clause prohibiting the importation of lottery tickets from Ireland, Sir John Gilmour said the Bill was framed against the seller-agents for the tickets. It would not be an offence for an individual to buy and send for a single ticket.
