Hobart Welcomes the Duke

ENTHUSIASTIC RECEPTION United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Wednesday, 10 p.m. HOBART, Nov. 14. The whole population of southern Tasmania seemingly awaited the arrival of the Sussex with the Duke of Gloucester to-day and he received a reception on a gigantic scale from thousands of youngsters, including Boy Scouts and Girl Guides. Later he witnessed a spectacular exhibition of eurythmics at the local sports ground, in which 5000 boys and girls participated, the children finally forming a large map of Tasmania with the word “Welcome” in the centre. There were also official and public receptions at the Town Hall and Government House.
