Young People Enjoy Surprise Party

A pleasant surprise was.received by Mr. J. Devantier, of Botanical road, when ho was met at his home by a party of 40 young people. Mr. R. Bennett, on behalf of tho guests, extended felicitations to Mr. Devantier, after which thero was music and dancing, the pianists being Miss IVI. 1 Clark and Aliss B. Perrin, while Mr. J. Christensen was M.C. Games and competitions occupied part of the' evening, rvliilc- items r\eie given by the following: Miss Doreen Devantier and Mr. W. Candy, songs and recitations; Messrs D. and K. Galloway, songs and dialogue. Winners of tho various competitions were: Monte Carlo, Miss M. Bulch and Mr. W. Candy; musical parcel, Miss B. Candy and Mr. L. Mandersou; bogey game, Miss M. Clark and Mr. ,J. Devantier; lucky parcel, Miss K. Perrin. Mr. Devanficr responded and extended thanks to tho M.C. and all who had assisted (o make the gathering such, a success.
