Gift Evening for a
Mrs. R. Edwards and Miss Ivy Wallace were hostesses at a “gift" ©v«n> ing at Mrs. -Edwards' homo, Churcll street, cm November 5, the guests o£ .honour .being Miss J. Kay and Mr; Bryce, who are shortly to bo married. The dining room had been cleared for ■dancing and artistically decorated with flowers, and coloured streamers. Ping pong was provided for tho nontinucers. A buffet supper was served in tho drawing room, which was charmingly ded ated with bowls of roses. Competition winners were: Miss Bryce (statue dance), Miss D. Mitchell and Mr. Mewett (putting tail on a pig); Miss Abbis and Mr. Bryce (lucky spot); Mrs. R. Hopwood (statue dance); Mr. J. Richardson (Pahiatua) progressve ping pong. Miss Kay was the recipient of many useful gifts and was accorded musical honours, Mr. Bryce making suitable reply.
