Te Arakura

From Our Own Correspondent. The To Arakura Tennis Club held its opening day on Monday afternoon. The club was formed nearly four years -ago when the court was laid on the school ground. It is nicely sheltered from prevailing winds, with a variety of native and other shelter trees. The court is also used by the school children who get their, tennis training while still at school. The afternoon was spent in friendly games. Mr. E. Whisker, club captain, apologised for the absence of the president, Mr. W, B. Thomas, asking Mrs. Thomas to take the president’s place. Mrs. Thomas welcomed all visitors and members, served the first ball, and declared the court open.
