BUNNYTHORPE v. KXA TOA, The final curtain will be rung down on Rugby football in tho Manawatu this Saturday, when Bunnythorpo' and Kia Toa juniors will meet for the final of the sudden-death competition on tho Oval at 2.15 p.m. It promises to bo a grand match, and all Palmerston North and surrounding districts should witness this fine game. A large : attendance is anticipated, for this match as not only will one see some excellent football, but one will also be helping a player who was unfortunate enough to suffer a double fracturo of tho leg in tho initial match of the season and has been in hospital ever since. The proceeds this week will bo in aid of this player, R. Carr, of the Linton Club, and with such a worthy cause in view tho public should be in attendance in largo numbers. Tho admission charge of one shilling, which is really quite reasonable for such a real tip-top final, will take one into the grounds and on to tho stands. Free list and all privileges will bo suspended for this week.' WALDEGRAVE CUP ANNEXED BY PHOENIX.

The competition for the Waldegravo Cup, the club’s football trophy of tho Palmerston North Boys’ High School, was concluded yesterday at tho Showgrounds. The season’s honours go to choenix, who in tho fiual proved victorious over Albion by 9 points to 3. The standard of play suffered somewhat from tho lateness of the season, but Phoenix, who boasted in their ranks a strong sprinkling of first fifteen and second fifteen members, proved stronger in both departments, although Albion reduced the scoring margin to a low level. The preliminary games were held at tho beginning of tho week, when Kia Toa and Gordon wero eliminated.
