WANGANUI TOTJENET. L. CATHEO HEADS AGGREGATES.

Tho Wanganui Golf Club’s annual tournament opened at Belmont yesterday, tho course being in good order, but a boisterous wind made,: good scoring difficult for those who could not keep an the fairways. Following are tho leading scores in the qualifying rounds:—

Among the players who qualified for the Belmont Handicap were: N. G. Ingham, I£. S. Glendinning and T. Louisson, of Manawatu.

MANAWATU CLUB. The September bogey handicap, which was to have been played on Saturday, will be postyoned to the following week on account of the legal tournament. The starting times already arranged, will stand subject to alteration by members concerned. During the legal tournament the course will bo available to members each day from 10.15 in the morning and from 2 o'clock in tho afternoon, S and to ladies from 3 o’clock, except on Saturday. The Palmerston North, Dannevirke, Feilding and Rangitikei Gold Clubs have very kindly extended the freedom of their courses to Manawatu players during the tournament.

PALMERSTON NORTH CLUB. A team from the Shannon Golf Club will visit Te Matai on Saturday afternoon. Play will commence at 1.15. The local team is:—F. Raven, L. Sinclair, R, Ramsay, C. Bryan, C. Walsh, C. Voss, E. McMurray, T. B. Arlidge, G. Tremaine, W. Reid, B. Pizzey, H. Dickel, E. Wells, W. Wilson. Emergencies; R. French, C. N. Smith, E. Gibbs, AERO CLUB. A stroke competition was played- on Wednesday, when, in spite of the hard ground and fierce greens, some good scores were returned.
