Woolnough (Commonwealth Geological Adviser) left to-day in tho monoplane Southern Cross for an aerial tour of Northern Australia. Their mission will have four distinct phases — aerial photography, geological survey by ground parties, geophysical survey of areas found to be suitable, and boring. The Federal Government hopes that their work will lead to the development of the resources of Northern Australia, and claims to have ample evidence justifying tho projected survey, which will go on for a considerable time.
