Sleads, was a medal presented by Sir. 11. G. Fankhauser. Very good shooting conditions prevailed and some good scores were registered. The following are the individual scores:— S. SI. Concert. A very good concert was held In the local hall on Friday evening to raise lunds for the Slethodist Church. Those participating in tho programme were Slisses Blamires and tho Rev. Blamlres, of Foilding, and Sir. George Houston, of Palmerston North. Tho items were most entertaining in every way, one especially enjoyable feature were the violin solos by Slis3 Vivienno Blamires. It is understood that these young ladies Intend to leave shortly for England to complete their studies, and Sir. K. Patchett, the missionary in charge, when at the close of tho programme thanked the party for coming and giving such an enjoyable entertainment, wished tho Slisses Blamires every success in their travels. Hockey Club.

The Rangiwahia Hockey Club has suffered a reverso in the last two weeks, being defeated by four goals to nil on both occasions. Up till these two matches the homo team was five points in the lead in the competition but Is now one point behind. On Tuesday night last the club held a most successful dance when their funds were considerably augmented. Prior to tho dance tho members of both football teams were entertained at a dinner at the local hotel as tho guests of Messrs J. Watt and J. Collie. Music for the dance was supplied by Messrs J. Carr and F. Clarke, extras being played by Mrs. Knox and Miss T. Kreger. Mr. W. S. Cooper was tho M.C. Hall Committee. Tho annual meeting of the hall committee was held on Saturday evening, Mr. S. -A. Meads presiding. Tho financial report showed a substantial credit balance, which is exceedingly good as over £SO was spent during the year on improvements. The old committee, Messrs fa. A. Meads (chairman), J. Morgan (secretary and treasurer), D. T. Couper, G. Kreger, W. E. Boshier, H. Fankliauser, N. T. Saywell, J. Carey, T. M. C. Smith, C. G. McKenzie', J. Watt, and T. Morgan, who takes the placo of Mr. S. A. Martin who is leaving the district. Mr. J. Rose was re-elected caretaker. Sir. J. W. Chrystall was re-elected auditor. Golf Club. Finals In the A and B grade championships were played over the week-end, 11. Fankhauser winning the A grade from N. F. Saywell 4 and 3. This match was played over 36 holes. I’. Jewell won from 15 Saywell 1 up in the B grade. Last week’s medal was won by W. E. Boshier with a net 63. On August S tho local club will play a match with tho Feilding Club on the Feilding links. The winners of the foursome played over the weekend were G. Kreger and W. E. Boshier, and the ladies competition was won by Mrs. McCaskie.
