McLEAN CHAMPION FOR THIRD TIME United Pres 3 Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, July 28. At Western Gaiies, in the Scottish amateur golf championship final, J. McLean defeated W. Campbell, .3 and 1. McLean has now achieved the unprecedented feat of being Scottish champion for three years. He led after the first Tound by three holes, taking 71 against the ex-international, Campbell’s 74. His excellent display included a birdie at the fifth in the second round. Team for Australia The Royal and Ancient Club announces that the Hon. Michael Scott, T. A. Brown, L. G. Garnett and J. McLean have accepted invitations to join the team for Australia in the autumn. Mr. Gullen, the RoyuL and Ancient Club’s secretary, will be' manager of the team and the Hon. Michael Scott captain. Runyan Beats Craig Wood NEW YORK, July 29. At Buffalo, New York, Paul Runyan won the National Professional Golfers’ Association championship, defeating Craig Wood 1 up in 38 holes. Runyan was the victor on the second extra hole whea Wood missed a 7-ineh putt.
