Free Milk for Longburn Children
FARMER’S GENEROUS GIFT A generous gift of free milk to the children attending Lougburn school has been made to the school committee by Mr. B. B. Zurcher, a well-known Longburn farmer. Writing to tho committee, Mr. Zurcher said ho would provide enough milk to give all tho children approximately ono pint (two eupfulls) each day. The committee voiced unanimous approval of the offer and it was decided that a letter bo forwarded to Mr. Zurcher thanking him for his generous action and assuring him of the committee’s sincere appreciation. In the course of the discussion it was remarked that this public-spirited act.iou would probably be the forerunner of similar offers in other parts of New Zealand. A double purpose will thus be served in helping to build healthier citizens and in fiuding an outlet for our surplus dairy produce. Mr. Zurcher, it may be added, is not' supplying the milk from liis own farm but is paying for the milk to be supplied to the school.
