LOYAL MANAWATU LODGE. The usual meeting of Loyal M'anawatu Lodge was held on Thursday night, Sis. Munro, N.G., presiding over a largo attendance of members. Three new members were initiated. A letter of appreciation was received from the Grand Master, thanking the members for courtesy shown him during his recent visit to Palmerston North. A motion of sympathy to tho relatives of tho late Bro. Morris was passed, sympathising with them in their tragic loss. A motion of sympathy was also passed to tho relatives of Bro. Hewitt. The sick visitors reported that all memebrs were on the improve. The ViceGrand welcomed the visitors on behalf of the Lodge, two Past District Grand Masters being among the visiting number. P.G. Bro. Farrar reported on a visit to Marion Lodge. P.G. Bro. Dawick also reported on a visit to Woodville Juvenile Lodge. P.G. Bro. Dawick acted as installing officer, installing the following officers for the ensuing term:— N.G., Bro. Freeman; Vice-Grand, Bro. Turnbull; Elective Secretary, Bro. Carter. Bro. Booth was installed by the N.G. as Warden. P.D.G.M. Bro. .Shannon presented Bro. Turnnll with a member’s emblem. P.D.G.M. Bro. Hominghan presented Bro. Ryan with a P.G. collar and emblem for just services rendered. ( The Lodge adjourned for harmony, when some of the members took part in a short farce, which was enjoyed by all present. Bro. Fowler, P.D.G. Master, thanked the Lodge for the welcome extended. All tho visiting members returned thanks on behalf of their various Lodges. OROUA LODGE OF DRUIDS. At the half-yearly meeting of tho Oroua Lodge of Druids held on Tuesday evening in the Oddfellows’ hall, Sis. B. Lennox presided over a good attendance of members. District President Bro. Lowndes paid an official visit and was accorded full Druidic honours. Officers and members from Acorn, Lind and Pahiatua Lodges were in attendance and were welcomed by the A.D. Bros. Lowndes and Gilmore reported on tho Friendly Societies’ Council and endeavoured to get Oroua to enter teams in the annual inter-lodge bowls tourney. One candidate was initiated into the Order and another proposed. D.P. Bro. Lowndes, assisted by P.A. Bro. Uro as M.C., installed tho following officers:—A.D., Bro. Buclianan; V.A., Bro. Paris; secretary, Bro. Mewctt; treasurer, Bro. Gilmore; LG., Sis. Lowndes; 0.G., Bro. McKenzie; R.A.8., Bro. Taylor; L.A.8., Sis. Buchanan; R.V.8., Sis. Lampard; L.V.8., Sis. Lampard; L.V.8., Bro. Holroyd; pianist, Sis. Buchanan, jnr.; M.C., P.A. Bro. Ure. Tho various officers returned thanks. It was decided that next Lodge night be set apart for a games and card evening. At the close of Lodge the floor wait cleared for dancing and a dainty supper was dispensed by tho sisters.
