Tomlinson, \Y. G. Booth, F. E. Tappin, 11. Richardson, C. E. Nairn, B. McLeod, J. B. Bradley, and W. McLennan. Tho chairman reported on tho recent inter-provincial conference at Wanganui. It was reported that the conference had given unanimous support to tho proposals made by honey-producers for the remission of duty on sugar used for the feeding of bees. In connection with the proposal to hold winter meetings throughout tho branch district in order to keep the interest in tho union live, M.r. Mason said that the proposed itinerary included meetings at Khnbolton, "Wnituna, Halcombe, Sanson, Stanway and Feeding. It was suggested that at the Stanway meeting the cups won in the root-crop competition would be presented. Arrangements were in hand t'c>r engaging speakers for Die meetings to deal with various phases of farming activities. Mr. Booth suggested that a meeting should be held at Oolytou, where interest in the union was quite strong. The meeting approved of the idea that the meetings should be of a social character and that tho co-operation of the Womens Division of tho Women’s Institute should bo invited, and agreed to leave the arrangements in the hands of tho president and secretary. In connection with tho proposal of North Island wheatgrowers for representation on the Wheat Purchase Board, Mr. Bradley stated that what with the difficult climatic conditions and the operations of tho board the wheatfarmers in tho North Island had not had much encouragement. He suggested that the meeting should support the proposal, and failing securing representation, tho growers should be allowed to withdraw from tho pool. Mr. Grice support this view, which the meeting endorsed.
