From Our Own Correspondent. Rangitikei Golf Club. Ladies of the Rangitikei Golf Club ■ played a bogey competition on the Bulls links on Tuesday, when conditions were anything but conducive to good golf. The best cards returned in the senior division were those of Mrs. McDonald (4 down), Miss Tricker (5 down) and Miss Palmer (6 down). Mrs. W. Pearce and Miss Burne returned the best junior cards. Tennis Club Dance. The euchre party and dance run in aid of the Rangitikei Maori Tennis Club, which -was held in Bulls on Tuesday night, was easily the most successm! function staged in Bulls this season. . ... There were 12 tables of card players, and the floor space in the hall was fully taken up by dancers who came from as far afield as Stanway. Mrs. R. Young (Parewanui) and Mr. Noel Langdon won the ' n most games in the euchre. A statue dance was held during the evening and - was won by Miss'.Wlghtman and Mr. E. H. Morrison (Stanway). Mr. Winiata supplied an extra during the supper interval. Mr. Harry Rewlti capably fulfilled the duties of M.C., and Mrs. J. Rewlti v and her willing band of assistants dispensed supper in their usual good manner. It is hoped the club will meet with the success it deserves in tho effort to obtain the finance necessary to complete -the laying down of the courts. Parewanui Euchre. The euchre party held in the Parewanui school in aid of the local school funds on Friday night attracted a fair crowd despite a wretched night, The winners were Mrs. W. Homes and Mr. Harry Bowen, it being the latter’s first success after eight years’ continuous attendance. After supper dancing was continued until the early hours. Dunng the ‘ evening songs were rendered by Mrs. G. Abraham and Messrs Rex Homes and ’ John Pilbrow, who were accorded encores. Miniature Rifle Shooting. There was a long list of shooters present when the Bulls Miniature Rifle Chib fired its weekly practice on Monday evening. The shoot was the first of tho senes for the club championship, three men (P. .Thorby, T. Prichard and C. M. a-.iT.'Broughton) each scoring 130 out of 140. .
