High Taxation Creates Unemployment
AUSTRALIA’S REDUCTIONS. “The Australian Commonwealth Government has come to the conclusion that high taxation creates unemployment,” said Mr John Fuller, of Sydney, who is on a visit to Wellington. “In a manner almost unprecedented, it has brought about a reduction of taxation, to the extent of over £7,000,000 per annum. Various State Governments have arrived at the same conclusion, and most of them have already decided to reduce the wages taxin 1034. “The result of this,” Ml Fuller added, “has been a tremendous heartening up of the people. It lias created a wave of optimism which is being felt throughout the length and breadth of Australia.”
