St.John's Church
PARISH HALL CONCERT. !'■■ Good support was accorded the concert staged at tho Parish Hall, Fcilding, on Friday evening in aid of the funds for tho painting of St. John’s Anglican Church. The programme was very well received, the performers earning the applause their efforts invited.
An orchestra under Mr E. A. Golding,' comprising Mrs J. G. Eliott, Miss B. Eliott, Messrs Wood and Farmer, supplied refreshing music; songs were rendered by Mrs Golding, the Durie brothers, and Mr Merritt; while the three plavlettcs proved quite diverting. The Maori trio also enlivened proceedings with hakas and melodious music. Supper followed the concert, when the Rev. Canon Petrie took the opportunity of thanking those responsible for the concert and paid a tribute to the work* of the Church Mite Society. \ Dancing was indulged in until mid-1 night:, to music supplied by Dune j Bros., Mr J. Rosoman playing an extra. 1
