Feilding Stock Sale

New eZaland Farmers’ Co-operative Distributing Co., Ltd., report on Feilding supplementary cattle ffair:—W-e submitted a yarding of 1300 head of all classes. There was a good inquiry for good-conditioned grown bullocks and run-bred cows and heifers, prices for those sections, being well maintained. In view of the fact that feed has . not yet come away in up-country districts, the demand for young steers was not so keen -and prices declined by os per head. Station-bred yearling heifers sold freely. The quality of the yearling Jersey heifers was not up to last sale, and values were comparatively low. Beef, both ox and cow, was in demand, and prices fully maintained. In sheep our entry' was confined to fats, all lots selling freely at improved prices.

Our prinpal sales were:—2s Hereford bullocks, £5; 25 ditto, £1 17s; 19 Polled Angus bullocks, £5 2s; 50 ditto, £1 18s; 20 )-year Hereford steers, £4 os; 64 3-ycar P.A. steers, £4; 49 ditto, £3 17s 6d; 42 2-year Hereford steers. £3 13s; 15 ditto, £3 14s; 22 ditto, £2 19s; 44 yearling P.A. steers, £3; 43 ditto, £2 ,10s; 36 ditto, £2 16s; small yearling steers, 34s Gd to 39s 6d; S 3 P.A. cows, £3 ss; 40 ditto, £3; others, 34s to £2 16s; 34 3-year P.A. heifers, £3 12s; .15 ditto, £3 7s; others, £2 15s to £3 6s; 2-ycar heifers, £2 to £2 12s Gd; 28 P.A. yearling heifers, £2 ss; 50 ditto, £2 9s; 65 ditto, £2; smaller sorts, 33s to 3Ss; Jersey yearling heifers, best £2 19s to £3 os; others, 3Ss to £2 18s; small, 26s to 31s; fat bullocks, light £6 12s Gd to £6 15s; fat cows, best £4 17s Gd to £5 10s; others, £3 17s 6d to £4 10s; dairy sorts, £2 2s 6d to £2 17s; fat heifers, light £3 2s 6d. Sheep: Fat hoggets, 25s 3d, 225, 21s 6d; lighter, 17s 8d to 19s; fat ewes, los 9d, 15s 30, 14s Sd; lighter, 11s to 3ss 7d.
