Church Services

The morning service at St. And row’s Church will be conducted by Rev. D. Calder, 8.A., agent for the British and Foreign Bible Society. In the evening Rev. (J. T. Brown, M.A., will preach on another picturo from the life of Jesus, 11 The Resurrexion and the Life.” All are invited. Bov. A. N. Seotter, of St. Paul’s Methodist Church, who is chairman of the Hawke’s Bay-Manawatu district, will preach at Sanson and Kongotea churches on Sunday. His pulpit will be supplied by Bev, (f. T. Brown and Bev. David Calder. Mr. Calder is Dominion secretary for the British and Foreign Bible Society. At tho United Evangelical Church, tho pastor, Mr. Wesley E. Richards, will preach at 11 o’clock on tho subject: “Blood-guiltiness,” when there will be a communion service, and reception of a number of new members on their profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. Mr. Richards will continue his special addresses at 7 p.m. on God’s plan of tho ages, No. 8, “Will there bo an Armageddon; if so, when and where 1” The 20 feet illuminative canvas chart will again be used, which has created a great deal of interest in theso subjects. A special invitation is extended to honest doubters and critics. At Emmanuel Congregational Church, Broadway, to-morrow will be a special day, it being tho commencement of a great gospel campaign, Andrew Johnston, the blind soldier evangelist, being the special preacher at both services. The subject at tho 11 o’clock service will be “The Man with a Growing Vision,” and in the evening at 7 o’clock, “The Spectators,” while Mrs. Johnston will render the.solo. 1 A meeting for prayer will be held tonight at 7.30, when Mr. Johnston will bo present. A very warm invitation is extended to visitors and strangers to the city to worship at the Congregational Church, Broadway. Evangelist Hinrichsen will speak both morning and evening in the Church of Christ this Sunday. Tho gospel service will take the form of a baptismal service, when several who recently confessed Christ will obey the gospel. Tho evangelist will preach on “Baptism”-—its place in New Testament days. The chapel is now being enlarged to seat another hundred people. Special services will be held in the Baptist Church. The Sunday school anniversary will take place at .11 a.m. and 7 p.m. and a special afternoon gathering at 3 p.m. The preacher for

the day will be the Rev, E. Goring, of the .Brooklyn Baptist Church, Wellington. The children have been well trained and singing will be well supported by an orchestra of talented artists. The annual prize giving associated with the anniversary services will take place on Monday evening.
