Wright, Stephenson and Company, Ltd., and Abraham and Williams, Ltd. report on the Johnsonville stock sale held on Tuesday as follows: — Cattle: The yarding comprised mostly prime heavy-weight bullocks, being practically no medium-weight cattle yarded. The quality was good and taking this into account prices could bo quoted as being on a par with last week’s rates.. Cows and heifers were in short supply and met with a keen sale. No runners or vealers came forward. Sheep: A short yarding of wethers and average yarding of ewes, mostly good quality, was offered. Competition was keen at prices showing no quotable change on late rates. Spring lambs met with a good sale. GEELONG WOOL PRICES MELBOURNE, Oct. 25. At the wool sales at Geelong to-day, eight bales of super combing merino brought 27d per lb., which is 3 per cent, more than tho season’s record of a fortnight ago. Several lots to-day averaged 221 d.

TALLOW PRICES IMPROVE LONDON, Oct. 25. At the tallow sales to-day 755 casks were offered and 455 were sold. Prices were occasionally Gd dearer as follows: Mutton, fine, 24s 3d per cwt.; medium, 20s; beef, fine, 23s 9d; medium, 20s.

LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Oct. 25. After showing general firmness throughout the day, tho stock markets closed with a good undertone, although values in some cases dropped below the best. British Government stocks finished firm with 3J per cen|. War Loan £lOl Is 3d. New South Africa 31 per cent. Loan, after active business, was finally quoted at $ per cent, premium. Kaffirs and intornationals were not so good at the finish. French 4 per cent, bonds closed at 23i, and 4J per cent, at 251.
