AUSTRALIAN HORSE IN EXCELLENT FORM
United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph —Copyright. Received Sunday, 11.5 p.m, NEW YORK, Sept. 23.
Mr. Naylor states that Winooka will leave Seattle to-night for Havre do Grace. No definite engagement lias been contracted, but Winooka will make an exhibition appearance on September 30 and ho will challenge Equipoise’s owner the same day- to a seven—furlong race on October 14. Notwithstanding Mr. Whitney’s statement regarding Equipoise’s last appearance, Mr. Naylor thinks there is a public demand for a match race.
Failing acceptance of this challenge, Mr. Naylor may take Winooka immediately to challenge the champions of Franco and Britain, as Poison, the trainer, reckons the wonder horse is in excellent form and certain to break the world’s records from six furlongs to a mile.
