Exciting Scenes at Meeting in Limerick
TWENTY INJURED IN BATON CHARGES

There were exciting scenes at an open-air meeting in Limerick, addressed by General O’Duffy and Mr. Cosgrave. Frequent baton charges were made by Civic Guards and 20 persons were sent to hospital.
Armed guards ambushed National Guards near Dingle, fired a volley without result and then emerged from a hedgo and ordered the Blue Shirts to proceed. The ambushers fired again, wounding three men—Dingle, a publican, Martin and Fitzgerald. Three arrests were subsequently made, and Patrick Dcvanc, Thomas Collins and Robert Myles were remanded on a charge of wounding Fitzgerald with intent to murder.
Raid in Belfast SHOTS FIRED AT FATHER AND SON. LONDON, Sept. 22. Three men fired five shots at Mr. Nowall and his son James at Belfast, and then escaped in a motor driven by a woman. The father's macintosh was pierced in two places, yet he escaped injury. Last year two armed men raided Newail’s house and refused to recogniso a sentence of eighteen months’ imprisonment to which they were sentenced in the Antrim Court as they said they were soldiers of the I.R.A.
