Professional Boxing Bout at Wellington
WALLY HANCOCK TOO GOOD TOR “TWIST” JAGGERS Per Press Association WELLINGTON, Last Night. Wally Hancock, the former welterweight champion of Australia, who in a ring career of nine years has engaged in over 100 fights, proved too experienced for “Twist” .Taggers in a professional boxing match over 15 rounds at the Winter Show Stadium on Saturday night. It was a duel between two left-hook artists, and although it was not spectacular, both men enfused sufficient life into their work to thoroughly please the audience of 1500. Though Taggers did most of the leading in the eaily stages, Hancock called the tune at the business end of the journey and scored a clean-cut and popular verdict.
