Increase in Gold Export
EIGHT MONTH PERIOD SHOWS RISE OF £208,000. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sept. 22. An increase in both the quantity and value of gold exported from New Zealand during the first eight months of the year, as compared with the corresponding period of last year, has been announced by the Minister of Mines (Hon. C. E. MacMillan). This year 105,670 oz. was exported, coinpard with 101,279 iz. The value ,'e £749,334, compared with £541,013. The number of prospectors who sold gold during August was 1359, as against S3G in August last year.
