Illicit Sales of Stores
YOUNG MAN COMMITTED TOE SENTENCE. Per Press Association ROTORUA, Sc.pt. 22. Failure to account for the sum of £33 14s lOd, representing sales of stores at the forestry camp, was admitted by a young man named Ernest Albert Tier, in the Magistrate’s Court. In a statement to the police, Tier said ho had been employed as a forestry relief worker at Kaingaroa at 10s a week, but his wages had been increased to 10s a day when he took over the store. He admitted taking the money for his own use, and said he had lent it to friends on trips to Rotorua, while he had also visited Auckland. The accused was committed to the Supreme Court, Auckland, for sentence.
