The Wanganui Jockey Club’s Spring Meeting concluded on Saturday In fine though dull weather. The attendance was, good arid the totalisator handled £9278 10s, as against £9388 on the corresponding day last year. For the meeting the investments totalled £15,531, as compared with £16,234 10S.
The course was in good order though a trifle dead. The Wanganui Guineas was really a one-horse race, Bed Manfred winning as ho liked, from Spiral and Copyist. The Higgle Handicap was won by Piji with View Halloo and Curie in the places, and the winner returned % substantial dividend.
