The New Oxford English Dictionary, which has been in process of publication since 1884 and is tho largest dictionary in the world, has now been brought up to date by the publication of a supplement. The last volumo of the maim body of the dictionary was published in 1928, but in a work which, represents a complete scientific dictionary of tho English language, a supplement was essential to cover words introduced into the language as a result of modern developments in many fields. Flying, motoring, wireless, and cinematography are obvious examples of such developments, which were practically unknown when tho first letters of the alphabet were deal with in the dictionary. .
