Card Evening. : The card evenings arranged by the Oddfellows have been very popular functions, and the one on Tuesday night was well patronised by a large number of card players. The bridge prir.es went to .Mrs. A. R. McNae and Mr. 0. Watkins. Miss J. Nix and Mr. A. Rouble gained the highest points at ,--.rjjn.e. After supper the floor was cleared for dancing to music played by Mrs T Fowelis, Mrs. J. Kearney and Mr. W. Ouwood. . There was a large gathering of dairy cattle at the local stock sale on Tuesday, which attracted a- fair attendance of buyers.' Most of the stock offering was sold atpresen t ruling prices, only one or two lines being passed in. Miss A. Martin, of Stratford, is holidaying at Tanie Knit v. ih her Parents, Mrs. Spence, of Feilding, and Miss Lorna Spence have been the guests of Mrs. Colin Spence, of Apiti. Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Gubbins motored to New Plymouth during the week. Miss Gwen Digby, who recently underwent an operation in the Palmerston North hospital, is now making satisfactory progress towards recovery.
