CHATHAM, 9.3 (Davidson) .. 1 Kuvera Rogilla, 9.0 3 Eight started. It was a runaway win by five lengths. Silver Scorn was in the ruck. Time, 1.371. CAMPBELL TOWN HANDICAP. AUTOPAY, 9.10 (Webster) .. 1 Dermid, 8.9 (Cook) 2 Tom Pinch, 9.2 (W. Cook) .. 3 Eleven started, including Persian. Won by half a length. Bronze Hawk, Vista and Persian finished close up to Tom Pinch. Time, 1.121. PARM SPRING HANDICAP. TOPICAL, 8.7 (McCarten) .. 1 Cherbourg,' 7.o (O’Sullivan) .. 2 Satmoth, S.G (MunTo) .. .. .. 3 Eight started, including Fairway. Won by three-quarters of a length. Time, 2.19. Safari was unplaced in the Hobartville Stakes and Movie Star in the Glenlee Handicap. Waikare ran second in the Warwick Earn Novice Handicap. After being prominent early in the Stakes, Silver Scorn’s lack of condition told and she faded out. Antique was unplaced in the Stakos and I airway in the Spring Handicap. J. Pike wa3 thrown by Shakuni et the start of the Hobartville Stakes but he was unhurt. WILLIAMSTOWN RACES UNDERWOOD STAKES MELBOURNE, Aug. 27. HALL MARK, 7.11 (Kellows) 1 Waltzing Lily, 8.9 (Daniels) Y. 3 Ogwell, 7.11 (Skidmore) ' .... 3 Eight started. Won by half, a neck. Time, 1.39. Peter .Jackson was unplaced in the August Handicap, also Waterline and Good Hunting in the Truganini -Handicap. C. W. France has been granted a trainer’s licence, and is making arrangements with his patron, Mr H. Tupaea, of Hastings, to take over Kaki, katoa and Laconic. France will malic his start as a trainer at Woodville. Chief Marionette, who changed hands after the Foxton meeting last month, will.in future be trained at Marton.
