Tivoli

“ROBBERS' ROOST” Based on one of the many incidents that have coloured Arizona’s history, ‘‘Robbers’ Roost,” the new Fox Films offering, at the Tivoli Theatre, has George O’Brien and Maureen O’Sullivan at the head of the cast. The picture is taken from Zano Grey’s story, and with its picturesque settings at the original locale of the episode, ‘‘RobbeTs’ Roost” is said to bo O’Brien’s outstanding screen play. The wholesale plundering of the cattlo on a big Tanch in the southern part of the State some twenty years ago forms tho historical basis of tho tale. The ranch owner, a wealthy Briton, is careless enough to hire a rascally foreman to run the place for him, and tho foreman drives the entire herd over the line into Mexico, sells them, and vanishes with the proceeds. Weaving an unusual type of romance into this plot, Zane Grey succeeded in making "Robbers’ Roost” one of liis most interesting stories. In transferring it to the screen director Louis King has faithfully preserved its atmospher. How O’Brien, playing a double game of pretending to side with the band of thieves adn at the same time secretly bringing an avenging posse to tho “Roost," manages to rescue the girl he loves and square matters with his enemy, form tho climax of the picture. The screening for to-morrow and Thursday will be an outstanding British comedy, “His Wifo’s Mother,” starring Gus McNaughton, Molly Lain ont, Jimmy Godden and others. There will be a matinee to-morrow afternoon.
