Kirkwood, of Chicago, tho former Australian, captured his first major golf tournament in North America on Saturday, winniug the Canadian open title and turning in tho best round for the final 18 holes, namely 69—three under par. He was out in 35 and home in 34. His previous three rounds were respectively 71, 72 and 70.
