NEW ZEALAND MEAT PRODUCERS’ BOARD Tlio returing officer announces that ho has received the following nominations for the three vacancies for producers’ representatives on the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board: — A. D. Acland, Christchurch (sitting member); Edward Averill, Hastings; James Carr, Methven, Canterbury; R. S. Chadwick, Danncvirke; J. 0. Coop, Ataahua, Canterbury; W. D. Lysnar, Gisborne; J. D. W. Ormond, Wallingford, Hawke’s Bay; Sir Wm. Perry, Mastcrton (sitting member.) 'Plxc election will take place on August 31, 1933, when the delegates who will bo elected to represent the various districts throughout the Dominion and who will constitute the electoral committee, will assemble in Wellington to consider the eleventh annual report and statement of accounts of the board and to elect the three producers’ representatives on the board. As already advertised, nominations for delegates to the electoral committee close at the board’s office at noon on July 21, and a postal ballot will then be conducted among tho sheepfarmers in the districts where the nominations are in excess of the number of delegates required. Others unchanged. Tho spot market is quiet and slightly easier all round. CLEARING- SALE The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report holding a clearing sale of live and dead stock on account of Mr P. Lurajud, Marton. There was a very large attendance, and considering tho backward condition of the cows and heifers prices wero satisfactory. One hundred heifers and 36 cows were yarded, the majority showing good quality, but wore in rather poor condition and calving late. Two hundred and twenty sheep were penned, and these elicited keen competition. Five horses came forwards, a 2year draught realising £2l, and all being keenly sought after. Machinery and implements also sold particularly well. Prices were: 5S low-mouth ewes, r.w. R.r., 9s; 31 m.s. v-oolly lambs, 12s 7d; 26 small ewe lambs, 9s; 84 small w-ether lambs, 8s Id; 10 cull ewes, 3s. Dairy cows in milk, £2 to £3 15s; Jersey cows, duo August, £3 10s to £5 10s; later calvers, £2 5s to £2 15s; backward, 30s to £2 2s 66; Jersey cross heifers (springing), £2 12s Gd to £3 ss; backward, 35s to £2 ss; 4yr bay marc in foal, £18; aged mare in foal, £9 ss; 2yr draught gelding, £2l;4yr black pony, 5; bay pony, £5. REFRIGERATOR SELLING In a statement to the "Editor and Publisher” in January last the Norge Corporation, of Chicago, stated that newspapers will constitute the back bone of Norge refrigerator advertising effort for 1933. The bulk of tho appropriation will be spent on space in dailies, it was revealed last week at one of a national series of 49 distribu-tor-dealer-meetings. Factory executives, in outlining this year’s sales programme, emphasised increased advertising schedules. Tho company had a successful year in 1932 and plans to sales further this yea/r.

Norge newspaper advertising "will bo placed at the factory’s order in 366 cities. In addition, mats are to be provided so that distributors and dealers may carry, over their signatures, Norge advertising. This distributor-dealer copy is to be placed by the dealer and paid for eo-operativcly by himself and tho distributor.
