A Thoughtful Act
DONATION TO MAKOWHAI CAMP Thanks to a thoughtful act on tne part of Mr C. J. Adams, of Palmerston North, the process of replacing the piano and wireless set lost in the recent fire at Makowhai Camp is now completed. During a private visit to the camp on Saturday afternoon, Mr Adams learned that the sum of £3 5s was still outstanding on the wireless set in use there. He promptly made a donation for that amount to finish the payment on tne set. This entirely impromptu action on the part of Mr Adams was soon made known to ithe men, and Mr A. Knox, chairman of the social committee at the camp, at once called the men together anrl expressed warn thanks to the donor. He stated that it was a great relief to them all to have the responsibility taken off their shoulders. The men assembled then gave three hearty cheers for Mr Adams, in appreciation of his kindness to the camp.
