A Divorce for Each
HUSBAND AND WIFE PETITION. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Last Night. A husband and his wife were both granted decrees in divorce by Mr. Justice Reed to-day. The husband petitioned on the ground of separation, and the w-ife cross-i)ctitioned on tho allegation of adultery. “Do I understand you both want a divorce?” asked the Judge.
Counsel for tho wife said his client wanted a divorce granted to her, and not to her husband.
His Honour: I can give them, both a decree. If it is their desire that the public bo informed of their domestictroubles, this is the right way to go about it.
After counsel had conferred, counsel for tho wife said the wife would not oppose the husband’s petition, but she also would ask for a decree on the ground of separation. Both tho husband and wife then gave evidence that they had been separated for threo years. A d' co nisi was granted in each case, a.,... the husband was ordered to pay tho costs of one case.
