From Out Own Correspondent. On Friday evening another of the series of popular euchre parties was held in the Waiata schoolroom. There was a good attendance and a _ very pleasant time was spent. . The winners of the tourney were: ladies, Miss J. Wylie, consolation prize Mrs Alulholland; Messrs J. Heneghan and B. Wylie tied for first place in the mens section and played a deciding game which was won by Mr Heneghan. Mr W. Jensen was awarded the men’s consolation prize. A dainty supper served by the ladies brought the evening to a close. The parties are organised by Miss E. Heneghan, proceeds being in aid of the school funds. On Saturday afternoon tho members of the Waiata” Women’s Institute payed a surprise visit to the home of Mrs vv. Jensen. Mrs Jensen, who has -very popular and active member of t.ie institute since its formation, is leaving AVaiata shortly to reside in Cheltenham. Mrs. Bruce McLeod, president of the institute, voiced the feelings of all present in expressing regret at Mrs. and Miss Jensen’s departure from AVaiata, but hoped they would both be welcome visitors at the AA’aiata institute on many future occasions. To Mrs and Miss Jensen were extended all good wishes for future happiness and prosperity in their new home. The speaker asked Mrs Jensen to accept a picture with tho best wishes of her fellow members. Mrs Jensen suitably replied.

A competition held during the afternoon resulted in Mrs Jensen winning the first place, while Mrs McLeod and Mrs A. Billett tied for second place. Eccitations were contributed by Miss AV. Dawson and Miss J. Cousins. The dispensing of a dainty afternoon tea and the singing of “They are Jolly Good Fellows” brought an enjoyable afternoon to a close.

Mrs A. Love of Whangarei and Air and Mrs A. Billett of Komako are the guests of Mrs E.. Billett of AVaiata.
