Amateur Cycling
(By “Amateur”.) There is very little to Teport this week and as the clubs in the Manawatu district seem to bo all having a spell from riding these notes will not bo printed again until greater activities are shown. I have invited all amateur clubs to forward to me any club news on matters of interest but as I only received one answer to my letters it does not look as if clubs are keen to help in any way to boost along the game and until things get busy, which they should do with the big races very near, my notes will not appea r. The only club which at present seems to be active is the Fcilding Club, which lias been granted a permit by the Manawatu Centre to conduct the Manawatu time trials. This will be held over a 20-mile course, and a meeting of the committee is being held this week to make final arrangements as t,o date and trophies. This club is to be congratulated ou its enterprise in staging this event and it is to be hoped their efforts in this connection will meet with big entries.
