Club-Root Resisting Swedes
Per Press Association NELSON, Last Night. Remarkable success has followed tho recommendations of Dr. Freeman, of the Nelson branch of the Department of Agriculture in connection with swede crops in tho Murchison district whero club-root disease is prevalent. Last year he recommended the horning variety and one crop of: this variety was grown on an area approaching thirty acres with good results, while alongside on the same farm the turnips failed owing to the club-root disease. As this district is dependent largely on root crops for winter feed the success of this variety is of much importance.
