Pohangina Valley
From Our Own Correspondent. The monthly meeting of tiro Poluingina Methodist Ladies’ Guild was held at the residence of Mrs J. W. Maddison, Pohangina, on Wednesday afternoon, Mrs Fordyce presiding over a good attendance. Letters of thanks and appreciation for boxes of useful gifts were received from missionaries and sisters in the Solomon Islands; also an interesting letter from the Dominion president, Mrs Pacey. A comprehensive report of the M.W.M.U. Conference, held recently in Wanganui, was forwarded by Mrs Jefferson, of Te Awamutu, and read with interest. A dainty afternoon tea was served and Mr and Miss Maddison were accorded a hearty vote of thanks for their hospitality. The next , meeting null be held at the home of Mrs J. T. Moar. Messrs G. and L. Wagstaff. of Pohangina, are spending a holiday in Napier. The Pohangina Girls’ Basketball Club continues to function enthusiastically. Regular practice games arc being held and the players are becoming A'ery proficient.
