.From Our Own Correspondent On Wednesday evening a very enjoyable social evening, organised by Hiss C. McLeod, was held at the residence of Mr and Mrs Anderson, Colyton, about forty guests being entertained. The spacious drawingroom, decorated with spring dowers and spindle berries, was comfortably filled, and a very pleasant time was spent in dancing, games and competitions, several quite novel forms of games being introduced. A musical spoons competition was won by Miss Margaret McLeod, Miss J. Burr being] the* winner of a “ring and dour'’competition. Toward the end of the evening. Mr J. Telford, on behalf of nil present, thanked Mr and Mrs Anderson and Miss McLeod for a very enable evening, Mr Anderson suitably relpying. The party came to a close in the early hours of the morning with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne." Mrs Anderson wore a. gown of black georgette and Miss McLeod was frocked in blue lace with a cape of gray crushed velvet. Those present were: Mr and Mrs Anderson, Mr and Mrs M. A. Smith, and Messrs. W. and J. McLeod. C. Elliott, C. Burr, D. Wilson, N. Walker, P. Rodgers, B. Masters, N. Williamson, B’. Kyle, W. and J. Howell. J. Telford, I. Neill, G. Adsett, F. Gavin and J. Dawson. Mr and Mrs Noel Shortall, Colyton, left on Thursday for a motor tour of the Hawcra and New Plymouth dis- 1 tricts. Mr G. Wealleans. of Taumarumu, who has been spending n. holiday with his parents. Mr and Mrs .T. Wealleans, left on Wednesday accompanied by Mr J. Wealleans and Miss J. Wealleans. Mrs G. P. Burr, of Aratika, is the o-uest, of her sister, Mrs W. Anderson, Bioadwav avenue, Palmerston North.
