Acce-ptances for the Manawatu Hunt's meeting, to be held at Awapuni next Wednesday, closed last ovening and tho response by owners has been particularly good. Each and every event has been well filled and in tho Hunt Cup every horse nominated has been accepted, Tho total acceptances are 15 more than for the successful meeting held in September’ last year and the meeting should bo a most enjoyable one. Winooka in America WINOOKA IN AMERICA. Received Friday, 10.30 p.m. NEW YORK, June 22. The Australian horse, Winooka, after a short rest will begin training and will then be sent east about August 1. It is hoped to arrange for him races with the well-known thordhgkbrcds, Equipoise and Gallant Sir. The horse is in excellent condition after the long voyage and is adapting himself to American climatic conditions. Kay Spence, one-time trainer for the Audley stock farm, has been placed in charge of Winooka's American campaign.
