Music Week

The Salvation Army is conducting a special music week, commencing tomorrow, Sunday, Jnne 25. A special feature of tho meetings will bo the verbal and musical snapshots at three o’clock in the afternoon. On Monday at 8 p.m. a musical programme will be submitted, in which the band will be assisted by notable aTtists. Wednesday will witness the grand annual social, for which careful arrangements have been made. Tho series of engagements will bo conducted by Adjutant Goffin, the popular composer, conductor and orator of English and colonial fame. The Adjutant has conducted some of the fmost bands in the world and has contributed many splendid compositions for brass bands. The Music Week will be concluded on Friday next, when a first-class programme will bo provided by many competent local artists. The evening will take the form of a friends’ night. Admission each night is 6d, or by season ticket Is. Last night Adjutant Goffin took over the band, whieh numbers 27 members, for practice. The instruction was most beneficial, and quickly reflected itself in the baud’s renderings.
