ATTEMPTED SAFEBREAKING PAILS. Two burglaries occurred in the city on Thursday night, but in neither instance did the intruders secure any substantial haul. The premises of Messrs. Alexander Clark were brokcu into by force and an attempt made to blow open the safe. Thr building had been entered from the reat, ftnd indications are that the intruders included one who had a knowledge of the promises. However, only a small quantity of looso silver was obtained, the stock being virtually intact. The Collcgo street school was also entered via the window at tho back of the school, and after great difficulty the headmaster’s office was opened.
