Death of Hole! Worker
An inquest was held before tho District Coroner, Mr. A. .J. Graham, yesterday into the death of Rangi Priestly, aged 24, employed as a, housemaid at a Palmerston North hotel, and formerly of Gisborne.
Evidence was given by Dr. O’. King that on March 2 he was called to the hotel and had found deceased, who was known as Airs. Bennington, dead. A post mortem examination had shown fatty degeneration of the heart. He considered that to be an adequate cause of death.
Harold Alexander Douglas Bennington gavo formal evidence of idetniticaton gave formal evidence of idciitiiicatogct.her as man and wife. Moliy Henderson Templeton, a waitress at the hotel, said deceased was a housemaid there. Witness had found the bathroom door locked. Deceased was not in her room and later an cmtranco was made to the bathroom, where she was found dead on the floor. Bhe had not mentioned any illness during the day. There was no indication of a strugglo nor any unusual circumstances. Both taps were running, suggesting that accused was preparing for a bath when death occurred. Tho Coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence.
