A very pleasant, social took placoin St. Andrew’s Hall on Tuesday afternoon In aid of tho Willard Homo fund, the board members being tho hostesses. The hall was beautifully decorated with some very fine blooms of dahlias and asters. A dainty afternoon tea was provided, and tho following artists contributed items: Mesdamos Law and Paton, violin and piano; Mesdamos McLachlnn and Findlay and MissPenketh, songs; Mrs. Ballinger, recitation. A prize for the best sponge sandwich was won by Miss L. McDonald, and one for 'scones by Miss Bryce, Mrs. W. J. Phillips being the judge of the cookery. To add to the fun and enjoyment a surprise parcel was presented to each guest. Miss McLagan thanked tho performers and those presont for their help and interest in tho wellbeing of tho children.
