The mid-week cricket competitions wore continued yesterday under ideal conditions. Services A Beat Optimists. Combined Services A defeated Optimists on the first innings. Unemployed B defeated Combined Services B by the narrow margin of 5 runs. The outstanding feature of the game was the hat trick by McLclland who finished with the fine average of V for 28. U.S.C. A Beat P.D.C. Unemployed Sports Club .A. wero drawn to play P.D.C. and they won an interesting game by seven runs on the first innings. Unemployed had first use of the wicket and Levy (5-1) and Holden (49) gave the side a great mart, knocking up .112 runs before a separation was effected. The wickets then fell’ steadily with Brace doing most damage, and the innings closed for 182. Brace (65) and Rodgers (38) put on 8S for P.D.C. but the total was not altered until Cockery joined Brace and they added 39 for the third wicket. ’Weston, Holden and Ormond then got results and although Duckworth batted well, the innings, when it closed, was still eight runs short of Unemployed’s total.
