Death for Zangara
CONDEMNED TO ELECTRIC CHAIR DEFIANCE OF THE LAW MIAMI, March 10. Guiseppe Zangara was to-day sentenced to death in the electric chair for the murder of Mr Anton Cermak, Mayor of Chicago. On. being sentenced. Zangara shouted to Circuit Judge U. O. Thompson: " You give me the electric chair! I’m not afraid of that chair. You’re one of the capitalists. You’s a crook man, too. Put mo in the electric chair! I’m no care.” Deputies rushed Zangara out as ho shrieked the last sentence. The spectators were held in tbo courtroom until, tho prisoner was removed to an elevator carrying him to jail. Under Florida law the execution date will bo fixed, by the Governor and officials of the State Penitentiary. .loe Zangara is a brick mason, of Italian parentage, and a resident of New York, whence he went to Miami three months ago. After attempting to assassinate President Roosevelt ar.d fatally wounding Mr Cermak, on February loth, he declared that he had no personal feeling but wanted to kill all officers of tho Government. Ho had planned an attack on the King of Italy. "I want to kill all Presidents,” said Zangara. "I am sorry I did not kill him. ’ ’
