CHAMPIONSHIP RIBBONS AWARDED

The Manawatu Kennel Club held a dog parade at the Showgrounds on Saturday afternoon. Dog-fanciers attended in largo numbers, and there was an excellent parade of pedigree dogs of various breeds. The Kennel Club awarded championship ribbons in the various classes, special ribbons for the Manawatu Stakes being donated by Messrs K. L. C. Aitchison, L. E. Hall and C. Whitehead.

Tho judges were as follow: Cockers, Mr. F. J. Patterson; Terriers, Mr. G. R. Lacey; collies, bulldogs, toys, Mr. L. E. Hall; wliippets and greyhounds, Mr. A. J. Phillipps; Alsatians, Mr. W, Sutherland. Detailed results are as follow: Alsatians: Puppy dog under six months, J. Franklin’s Jumbo. Limit dogs, Miss J. Paddy’s Rexdalc Blazer. Open dogs, Miss J. Paddy’s Kexdaie Blazer. Limit bitches, G. A. White's Acres Le Champ. Open bitches, S. Brown’s Sylvia.

Bulldogs: Limit dog and open dog, 11. M. Garner’s Bonnie Bill. Open bitches, 11. M. Garner’s Betsy.

Pomeranians: Dog under six months. Miss Young’s Tony. Limit dog anc) open dog, Miss G. Parker’s Bubbles. Pekinese: Dogs under 12 months, Miss Piper’s Southwell Ting Hao. Open bitches, Miss Piper’s Wee Su. Collies: Limit dog, Miss B. Cruickshank’s Sunny Prince. Whippets: Puppy bitch under six months, A. Lindsay’s Lady Alert. Limit bitch and open bitch, A. Wilson’s Miss Australia.
