Miss K Pattle, who was the guest of Mrs. J. D. C. Crowe, at Pahiatua, for the week-end, left by car yesterday morning for To Awamutu. She was accompanied by Mrs. Crewe, who will spend a holiday in To Awamutu and Auckland.

Cabled advice has been received that Miss Doreen Saunders, of I’almerstoa North, has gained her L.T.C-.L. for elocution. Miss Saunders is one of the city’s most pleasing performers, and her friends will be delighted with her success.

Miss Jean Scott, of Ferguson Street, Las Lad. further successes with her dancing at recent gatherings. At the Stratford sjrorts meeting on Thursday last, she svas awarded two first places (under 16), while at Turakina sports on Saturday, she gained three first places and one second under IS, also the North Isiand championship for Highland fling (girls under 18). Master Claude Henderson was placed Ist and 2nd in the under 12 section at Stratford, and he also gained two firsts and one second, and points medal under 12 at Turakina. Miss Isa McKenzie gained first place in. the sword dance 12 and undei 15. Miss E. Hcmmingscn was awarded 3 firsts under 15, and one second under 18, at the Utiku sports meeting on Thursday last.
